The engine is with air-forced cooling system so it's doesn't matter which direction the engine end goes to. Air filter goes in front or rear are both OK. Just please pay attention to the rotation of engine and output sprocket.The sprocket rotates in opposite direction with engine. When you face the clutch pad and sprocket side, the engine rotates anti-clockwise, but the output sprocket rotates clock-wise.
